Beaches
Torbay is best known for its Blue Flag beaches so why not visit some of them?
A recent study by university students discovered that Torquay's main beach - Torre Abbey Sands - has the best sand in the country for building sand castles! The far end of the beach is great for rock-pooling - you never know what might be hiding under the next stone or in the next pool.
Oddicombe beach is a lovely pebbley beach with spectacular views round the coast towards Teignmouth and Dawlish. Take a walk down the cliff and enjoy the views safe in the knowledge that you can take the funicular - Torquay's famous Cliff Railway - back up to the top!
Travelling a little bit further will bring you to Paignton beach which is lovely, long and sandy. Buy an ice cream and play the Penny Falls on Paignton Pier or investigate the brand new adventure play park on the greens.
